When dreams come true...

…to be once at the Oscars. Working directly backstage with the stars, experiencing the emotions up close and then ending the evening together at the Governors Ball.

Ryan Velasquez from the Academy Awards explains how this came about and what exactly we did:

Lichtfaktor created a custom-made solution for our needs which gave Oscar winners the opportunity to paint a personalised message with light just a few moments after walking off stage after their big win. Not only that, but the workflow they came up with allowed us to post the finished results on our social channels immediately, enabling us to capitalise on the massive audience on our social channels that same evening. Marcel and his team’s communication, work ethic, professionalism, and friendly personalities made a high-stress, high-stakes project run as smoothly as it possibly could. As far as the results, I believe they speak for themselves, playing extremely well internally and racking up millions of views across our various social platforms.

We were honoured to turn Hollywood’s finest into light artists.

With the help of our Light Painting System, the stars were able to create personal messages and signatures using light – to share with the world in a truly unique way.
What mattered most was that the award winners genuinely enjoyed the experience. That joy shines through in every frame.

For the Oscars, we developed a custom Light Painting System that captures both the talent and their light creations in real time – in stunning 4K resolution.

Everything ran smoothly, the response was fantastic, and we couldn’t be happier with the result.

Why we love the Oscar Light Painting

The time in Hollywood was something very special for us and after the long COVID shutdown, the perfect signal that things are moving forward again and that we should never stop dreaming. I would like to thank the entire team and the Academy Awards once again for this special experience.
